Ingredients:
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
- In a bowl, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice, orange zest, and lemon juice.
- Add the cooled syrup to the orange juice mixture and stir well to combine.
- Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
- Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a smooth, sorbet-like consistency.
- Transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for an additional 2-3 hours to firm up.
