  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1 ½ cups granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  7. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  8. Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
